World’s Greatest Cricket Quiz III

  • The World’s Greatest Cricket Quiz – Third Edition

What a night! The Third Edition of The World’s Greatest Cricket Quiz at Good George - Dining Hall was nothing short of spectacular — a perfect blend of festive chaos, sharp humour, colourful costumes, and cricket banter at its finest.

From the moment the first question was asked, the room was buzzing. The atmosphere was somewhat chaotic at times (in the best possible way), with plenty of laughs, banter, and cricket-themed outfits that could have walked straight out of a World Cup parade. The creativity and effort in the dress-ups were next level — a true celebration of cricket culture.

Our special guest this year was former Blackcaps Neil Wagner, joining a stellar alumni of past quiz legends including Kane Willison, BJ Watling, Scott Styris, and Tim Seifert. The quiz questions? All cricket. All brutal. Even the most committed cricket tragics were left scratching their heads.

Karl Johnson was outstanding as MC and Quiz Master, steering us through the madness with style, while the man behind the concept, Thomas Nabbs can take a bow for creating such a unique and brilliant event.

The night raised a tidy sum for The WaterBoy with Lugtons and youth cricket initiatives hosted by Seddon Cricket Club — but the real focus was on having a great time and using cricket as the platform to bring people together.

    Highlights included:

Outstanding music and a spine-tingling national anthem sung with pride

The auction wizardry of Mark McGoldrick from Harcourts

Stunning photography from Sharon & Wayne Dean of Ultimate Sports

Good George Brewing proving once again they’re the perfect hosts for a night like this

And, of course, congratulations to Bin Chins — winners of three straight quizzes. The dynasty continues!

A big thank you to Farmlands Co-operative for attending and supprtong this event!

To everyone who came along, dressed up, laughed, sang, and maybe even answered a question or two correctly — thank you. You made it one for the ages… albeit a wonderfully rowdy and chaotic one!
