MOVEMBER TEST – MATCH SUMMARY (4th EDITION)
The 2025 Movember Test delivered everything this fixture has come to represent — endurance, resilience, momentum swings and genuine Test cricket, all in support of men’s health.
Across four full days, an extraordinary 401.2 overs were bowled. To put that into perspective, the longest Ashes Test of the most recent series (Adelaide) featured 365.3 overs. This was a huge physical and mental effort from every player involved.
After dismissing Seddon Cricket Club for a below-par 231 on Day One, the Movember XI established a commanding first-innings lead of 147 runs. That advantage was built on a dominant first innings total of 378, highlighted by Jeremy Benton’s outstanding 131 (retired), giving the XI a strong position early in the Test.
Seddon Cricket Club showed outstanding character to fight their way back into the contest. A gritty second-innings century from opener Jason Hussey (106) laid the platform, with valuable contributions from Ollie Farrell (63) and Ethan Gray (65) as Seddon posted 405, setting the Movember XI 259 to win.
The chase went right down to the wire late on Day 4, with the Movember XI pushing hard led by a magnificent 124 from Jacob Babu before being dismissed for 240, sealing a hard-fought 18-run victory for Seddon.
Beyond the cricket, the impact was significant. Over $13,000 was raised for Movember, taking the Movember Test’s four-year fundraising total to approximately $70,000.
With momentum building, the ambition is clear — $30,000 next year and to bring up an incredible $100,000 raised across five Tests in support of men’s health.
More than runs and wickets, this match is about connection, conversation, and looking after one another using cricket as the vehicle to make a real difference.
A huge thank you to all players, umpires Liam Coombes and Hudson Clarke, St Paul's Collegiate School - Hamilton, supporters and sponsors and to Cameron McLeod and his BurgerFuel team for keeping everyone fuelled throughout four demanding days of cricket.
